数字量输入模炔用于连接外部的机械触点和数字式电气信号处理器，它将来自于现场设备(如转换开关、限位开关、接近开关、温度传感器、电磁线圈、阀执行机构等)的电气信号转换成一种可由CPU处理的电平信号。所有I/O模炔均采用光电隔离方式连接到总线上，且均可由软件配置

PLC的输入电路按外接电源的类型分为直流蝙入电路和交流输入电路;按PLC输入模块公共端(COM端)电流的流向分为源输入电路和漏输入电路:按光糖发光二极管公共端的连接方式分为共阳极和共阴极输入电路;按接线方式分为汇点式、分组式和分隔式。

汇点式的各I/0电路有一个公共点，各输入点成输出点共用一个电源:分组式的V/0电路分为若千组，每个组的V/0电路有一个公共点，各组之间的电路是分开的，可以分别使用不同的电源;:分隔式的各V/O电路之间都是相互隔离的，每一个I/0均可以使用单独的电源，如图2-14所示。
