The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RP1 is a PanelView Plus component. This component is a logic module that hosts various interfaces and contains the necessary storage and processors for the PanelView Plus operator terminal.

The 2711P-RP1 is installed at the back of the display module. The display module comes with a 64MB random access memory (RAM) for the operator terminal runtime interface, and 64MB flash memory for storing files such as application backups, manuals, logs, recipes, reports, and other system files.

The 2711P-RP1 logic module is connected to the display module circuit through a PCI slot. When installing this module, you must observe proper grounding, as the components in it are very sensitive to static electricity.

The 2711P-RP1 is compatible with PanelView Plus 7o00, 1000, 1250 and 1500 operator terminals. The device is a replacement hardware, as any PanelView Plus 700-1500 comes with a pre-installed logic module. Similarly, a fully functional PanelView Plus operator terminal requires a logic module.

The 2711P-RP1 module is powered by an external 24VDC power supply. It comes with standard communication interfaces such as Ethernet port, 9-pin Mini DINRS232 port and USB port. The Ethernet port is used to connect the PanelView terminal to one or more controllers via the Ethernet V/P protocol, while the RS232 interface is used for point-to-point connections. Ethernet can cover longer distances, up to 100 meters, which can be easily expanded. RS232 connections are ideal for short-range communication and are often used for panel communication. The logic module also comes with two (2) USB ports for connecting peripherals such as a keyboard and mouse.

It is fixed to the display module with six moths and can carry a communication module, which can be attached to the display module after removing the grey label on the back of the logic module. When connecting the logic module to the display module, ensure that the display module is not powered on. Wordpad text editor, media player, and remote desktop connection are some of the extended optional features provided in this module.

The 2711P-RP1 supports two USB connectors, one RS-232 connector, and one Ethernet port. It also has a CompactFlash card slot for inserting memory cards. Do not insert the memory card while the device is powered on. The module can only operate safely in an ambient temperature between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. The only maintenance required for this unit is a visual inspection of the connector and cleaning of accumulated dust from time to time. The 2711P-RP1 uses a 24 volt DC power supply. The module has a built-in status indicator for process identification. Other available slots are USB, CompactFlash, and Ethernet slots for efficient communication.
